Life is not bad but....

I am missing everyone so much today. Not much else that I'll include in this post but just wanted to say that everyone feels far away and very much missed. You will all be together with family and friends for Thanksgiving next week and we are here so far from home.... The comforts of family and good friends are precious. I don't know why it hit me today, I think there is a relationship to the cold coming in strong for the first time. I think of this time of year as preparing for hiberation when we don't have as much extroverted energy and need to be around those people with whom we are very close. Love you all.

Good Morning (at least here) - Well I know that we have missed you and your progeny terribly since the moment that you left here for your grand adventure.

I am sure that being so many thousands of miles away intensifies the isolation from the rest of your family and friends. Aren't you so lucky to have made the wonderful French and Australian friends that you have.

Our course the Australians have been great friends to the USA forever and now with Sarkozy in power the French seem to be back on our side as well. How is that playing in France or don't you even know about his address before a joint session of congress and all the glowing things he said about the US and how the French needed to be more like the US if they were to be the leaders of Europe once again? Maybe those rail strikes tell me how they feel, at least the workers!
Enough politics, I can see my children rolling their eyes as they read this.

It has turned cold here, finally. Not that I find that a good thing personally. we were well below freezing last night and the night before. The trees are finally shedding their leaves and the view of the valley out the back is improving daily. You weather is similar to our, in high temperature these days - looks like you had a nice day today, sunny and high around 45º if Accuweather is to be believed.

We are loving all the pictures, I know that taking them is fun, but uploading can be a pain. But they make it easier on us.

Since I am not seeing a way for us to upload pictures on your blog, maybe we should set up a Yahoo Group for Family/friends - I could do that and anyone could post favorite pictures there.

I’m off to do the final boat winterization chores today in the cold. Hope you three had a wonderful day. I, for one, envy your proximity to the ocean and the harbor. I would just spend all my time down at the water and get nothing done.

Please Give Jules and Miette a big hug and kiss for me and tell them I love them and miss them, and then tell them to give you big hugs and kisses and to tell you that I miss and love you!

Love,
Grandpa Richard

Well, I'm sorry to hear today was a lonely day. I wish we could be there for thanksgiving, but I guess we will have to settle for Easter instead...

Amazingly, we just happened to book our tickets (via AirIndia) to visit you before wandering over to your blog today and seeing your sad note! And elt me say, we are SO excited to see you and the kids and of course explore the country and culture as much as possible over the course of the week we managed to steal away from work (03/21 - 03/29). Now to brush up on the trusty ol' french, because after all... J'ai échoué au français beaucoup de temps (or so babelfish tells me). I have some CDs for the car, but they have no english component, so its really just a 'learning by osmosis' technique, which isn't doing too well at keeping my interest. Any suggestions?

Anyway, hang in there through the cold and the loneliness and we'll look forward to seeing you in the Spring! Miss you and send our love. Say Bonjour to Jules and Miette for us sil vous plait.

awwwww, eve, we miss you and those rascals. i literally was just (this afternoon) talking about how much i miss our long (pre-stella!) conversations. i think of you when i hear certain songs (drivin' dirty, as you would say), when i hear people say the word "hilArious," and whenever i browse a catalog (boden) or shop (anthropologie) window. it's just not as fun here without you. period.
i wish you could hear stella say "hi, dog" and "up" over and over and over, or watch her take off running when i ask her if she needs a diaper change. girlfriend is QUICK! all kids are undoubtedly funny, but my little miss cracks me up all day long. i can't wait for her to see you more, for her to be able to say "aunt evy."
aaaaahhh, soon. but right now it feels like not soon enough, and i'm sorry you feel a little sad. seriously, grab yourself a good gossip mag, make yourself some hot chocolate, throw on some good music, and pretend we're sitting on the couch talking about celebrity nonsense!
as richard said, kisses ALL around, and tight squeezes (like the kind you give).
we love you bunches,
katie and stella

Eva,
Just tuned in to view the much acclaimed video of Miette speaking french and read your most recent note....I'm sending you huge hug vibes!! I had sat down to write you a long letter via e-mail a few nights ago, but got interrupted and never finished it. I will do that soon. I can't even describe what Hyde Park is like without you and the kids....Ok, I am going to go before I start boo-hooing! You know I love you and miss you like crazy and am trying to scheme a way to get to visit you before you leave France!
XOXOXOXO Megan
