Plug for unplugging

http://www.adbusters.org/metas/psycho/mdw/

Well, its no longer "mental detox week" but I thought I'd put a blurb here anyway having noticed that my brother in law Sean had posted to his facebook profile that he was offline for the week. So I went to the adbusters' site and read more. Though I don't have a TV I have spent more time in front of the computer this year to stay in touch, and as a sort of companion substitute since I'm on my own after bedtime this year. But sometimes it feels like a vacuum and can be a distraction from more fufilling things. So check it out, think about it, turn some things off for awhile, and relax. (you too, Ry!)

eva - dad speaking (wonders never cease!) I think you are right. It's time for us to forget this madnness and reclaim our roots. I don't know why the Tarbells left Tarbes in the first place, but it 's time to find out. I'm sure it will take some time and will probably require a pretty hefty team of us to do the work. Of course, we'll have to do it on site (Tarbes!). I will begin to recruit immediately as well as put the French government on notice. The houseselling market here is tricky right now and we may have to work second (third) jobs, but we'll do our best. Maybe we can speed up our French citizenship and begin getting credit for the grandchildren! If I can't get a job doing genealogy, I'm sure Mom and I can get jobs baking and flipping croissants. It would be great press for the French: " Former American vice-mayor and famous ceramic artist wife (or vice versa) thrilled to be baking and flipping in Tarbes. Contemplating bringing extended family here and possibly starting francise operations! " Eva, I know we can do it! Please do not make any major decisions before we talk further. Love you. Love the children. Love you, love you, love you. Dad.
